INGREDIENTS
- 16 cups of cubed stale country white bread
- 3 cups of chicken broth
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of diced onions
- 2 cups of celery
- 2 chopped apples
- ¼ cup of chopped parsley
- Stick of butter
- Tablespoon of minced sage
- Tablespoon of thyme
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Over medium heat, melt the stick of butter in a large
skillet.
- Add the diced onions, celery, chopped apples, sage and
thyme.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Whisk the eggs with the chopped parsley in a large bowl. Add
the stale country white bread, then pour in the vegetable broth
mixture and toss.
- Transfer to a buttered baking dish and dot with more
butter.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake until
golden for 20 more minutes.
