STUFFING

INGREDIENTS

  • 16 cups of cubed stale country white bread
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups of diced onions
  • 2 cups of celery
  • 2 chopped apples
  • ¼ cup of chopped parsley
  • Stick of butter
  • Tablespoon of minced sage
  • Tablespoon of thyme

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Over medium heat, melt the stick of butter in a large skillet.
  3. Add the diced onions, celery, chopped apples, sage and thyme.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Whisk the eggs with the chopped parsley in a large bowl. Add the stale country white bread, then pour in the vegetable broth mixture and toss.
  7. Transfer to a buttered baking dish and dot with more butter.
  8. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake until golden for 20 more minutes.
